CREATED FOR GOD’S GLORY

Isaiah 43:7
Everyone who is called by My name,
And whom I have created for My glory,
Whom I have formed, even whom I have made.

Cousin Ronnie

On Good Friday Cousin Ronnie went to heaven. He had been born with Fragile X Syndrome and had lived 70 years with a mind and body unusable in this world, seemingly of little value.

His sister Linda wrote: Ronnie, for his diagnosis of Fragile X Syndrome, had a special ability to sing gospel music. He could do this without knowing how to read or write. He had the rhythm to sing by ear. Grandma Edith Terrell would sing to us all the time. Ronnie could play the drums and follow the beat. I would play the song “Wipe Out,” and he would follow on the drums. He liked the old classic country western songs also. He wanted his surroundings to be neat and tidy; he did not like anything out of place. He would never complain, even when in pain. It was had to let him go, but I know God is taking care of him in heaven.”

In the Bible (John 14:1-5) Jesus says He is going to prepare a place for those who believe in Him and that He, Jesus, will come and take his own loved ones to be with Him evermore. Jesus is the source of true everlasting life and Ronnie believed and loved Jesus.   When he left his restrictive earthly body he stepped into eternity, fully comprehending who God is and what Christ has done for Him.

I remembered the song “Finally Home” by Don Wyrtzen:

“Just think of stepping on shore and finding it heaven,

“Of taking a hand and finding it God’s,

“Of breathing new air and finding it celestial,

“Of waking up in glory and finding it home.”

As we celebrated Easter I rejoiced that Ronnie is completely well, completely able to run and rejoice in the presence of the Savior.  He has nothing to regret as he faces Christ.  He obeyed in all ways as well as he was able.  He was faithful in all God’s plan for him.

Jesus heals shattered hearts,

Confused hearts are cleared,

 Unfulfilled hearts are satisfied,

Unsettled hearts are calmed,

He empowers us to bear His witness,

He promises take us to Himself for all eternity, giving us hope and purpose for life; even a life of value when the world cannot see the value.
